Updated: Apr 6, 2018

Chapelton , Clarendon — The charity group LJDR Davis Foundation recently donated a range of health care items including 17 beds, 12 mattresses, four wheelchairs and two lifters to the Chapelton Community Hospital which serves more than 37,000 people in northern Clarendon.

A news release from the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA) said the donation was made by members of the foundation, following their four-day medical mission at the Evelyn Mitchell Infant School of Excellence in Brandon Hill in northern Clarendon.

The 68-member team provided services in paediatrics; obstetrics and gynaecology; dermatology; dental care; social work; cardiology and critical care. The team also dispensed over three months' supply of pharmaceuticals to residents.

The news release said that siblings Novlet Davis and Pearlyn Clark started the LJDR Davis Foundation in December 2012.

Since then it has provided free health care to residents of Brandon Hill and surrounding communities through its annual medical mission.
